DevOps engineers provide release engineering support to our developers, end-user support on automation facilities and application environments to internal systems and troubleshooting support to customers with their non-Production environments.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update J2EE application build, packaging, and deployment solutions.
  • Create and maintain AWS infrastructures for internal projects and customer projects.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers hosting Sapiens’ software environment.
  • Configure, maintain, and support runtime environment for J2EE applications running on JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat and Spring Boot
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the web application serving plane (application servers, web servers, networking support)
  • Provide internal and external customer support and issue troubleshooting for above responsibilities.
  • Maintain and engineer systems that automate all of the above items.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ Years’ experience with J2EE web application platform, especially with JBoss and WebSphere Application servers.
  • 3+ Years’ experience with enterprise Linux environments
  • 1+ Years’ experience with “Amazon Web Services” technologies EC2, RDS, ALB, S3, VPC
  • Prior experience with programmatic infrastructure deployment such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience writing and maintaining BASH scripts and working knowledge of one of these languages: Python, PowerShell, Ruby, or Go.
  • Prior experience with version control tools.
  • Prior experience with CI/CD or job automation systems.
  • Candidate must be comfortable communicating with and supporting a user base of varying technical skills.
  • Candidate must be comfortable communicating with customers on production support calls.
  • Candidate must have strong research and troubleshooting skills.
  • Candidate should be able to keep track of multiple support tasks simultaneously.
  • Candidate should demonstrate strong affinity to secure practices and have working experience with secure configurations of systems, such as encryption and access control.


Bonus Points

  • An AWS certificate, at least SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect (Associate).
  • A Linux certificate, such as RHCSA.
  • Experiences in these technologies are preferred: RHEL/CentOS, Ant, JBoss EAP, WebSphere Application Server, Jenkins, Subversion, Git, Oracle Database.
  • Demonstration of strong understanding of computer networking, and ability to describe how various networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS etc.) work is a big plus.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres.
  • Knowledge of Windows based corporate infrastructure (Active Directory, Network shares, VDIs) is a plus.
