Lead Product Analyst – JD

  • Senior Product Analyst is a senior member in the Product Analyst team of Reinsurance R&D who is responsible for managing Functional requirements and application design for complex features in the system.
  • The candidate should be able to run workshops with domain managers, Product Managers, customers to elicit the requirements and present solution design and eventually take the requirement through to implementation when required.
  • The person should be able to mentor and train other Product Analysts and BAs.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the system/ application / solution design discussions along with the team.
  2. Manages the end-to-end Design flow, documents and presents to the Business users with different solution options.
  3. Presents to the Technical design team to get the required application components developed, tested, and delivered.
  4. Able to train the team.

Pre-requisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience

Experience

  • Should have some technical experience and then moved to a BA role.
  • Insurance or BFSI experience is a must.
  • Prior knowledge of Core Insurance is a must
  • Experience of having worked in at least an implementation project for 2 years. Leading end to end requirements for at least 2 modules from product/solution design perspective.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong System Analysis skills and experience.
  • Intermediate System Implementation skills
  • Intermediate SQL and data modelling skills is a must.
  • Understanding of SDLC and AGILE concepts is a must.
  • Ability to use the system design, data and other modelling tools covering BPMN, Workflow, System flows, etc.
  • Preferably with System / application architecture design skills based on the IT standards.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Understanding of Insurance Products and processes. (At least 2 LOBs and associated processes)

As above

  1. Gather business / functional / application requirements for complex changes in the system
  2. Document requirements in SDS, application design, setup books.
  3. Perform configuration changes on the system to implement the changes and defect fixes when required
  4. Conduct requirement discussion with Principal Product Analysts, Product Owner, Domain Managers, and customers
  5. Co-ordinate implementation of changes with development and QA teams.
  6. Conduct walkthrough of requirements with development and QA teams
  7. Attend daily stand-ups.
  8. Conduct User forums
  9. Conduct training sessions for junior members of the team
  10. Work as a core representative on project teams as needed.
  11. Understand and contribute to core/ Asia product roadmap.
