Senior Lawyer - Legal Manager APAC

What you’ll do: 
•    Managing the internal legal team activity, as well as external counsels in India, from a corporate, compliance, procurement and HR standpoint with overall responsibility for ensuring the company and its APAC affiliates are in full compliance with all legal requirements
•    Providing legal advise in various matters concerning the operation of the Sapiens business in India and APAC
•    Assisting in developing, executing and the monitoring of SCR policy and plans
•    Handling all Labour, Employment and HR legal issues working closely with Business units, corporate and VP HR. This would include:
o    Ensure ongoing compliance with labour and tax laws of each state in India and each country in Asia where Sapiens operates.  
o    Be proactive in educating business as well as corporate functions in the geography on upcoming labour laws and associated impact to business and employees.
o    Be responsible for all employee contracts – templates and content.        
o    Review and signoff on Employee handbook and all employee policies (overtime, standard work hours, allowances for shifts/on-call etc etc.)
o    Ability to draft and review Indian-law compliant legal letters for employees as needed. For example – separation agreements, show cause notices, disciplinary action letters, employee disputes and conflicts etc.
o    Guide business leaders and HR teams on difficult and extraordinary employee relations cases (including employee grievances, misconduct and underperformance).
o    Oversee company’s framework to Sexual harassment and guide associated investigations.
•    Create whistle-blower framework and handle cases, if any.
•    Monitor adherence to internal controls and policies, ensuring employees follow established guidelines. Regular audits help identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
•    Create mechanisms to safeguard company’s reputation and legal standing.
•    Handling procurement agreements, locally as well as globally
•    Provide mentoring, guidance, support and training to local legal team.
•    Drafting legal notices and reply, complaints, suits, plaints, written statements, etc. 

What to Have for this position.
Must have Skills:- 
•    Over 10 years of experience in a global corporation supporting various territories. Experience in      
•    Hi-Tech industry would be an advantage. 
•    Experience in team management
•    High skills of drafting different legal documents.
•    Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to independently coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as may be necessary.
•    Be able to manage difficult situations and conflict in a professional manner.
•    Be proven in instructing and working closely with professional advisers.
•    Ability to work with executives.
•    Ability to strive in a dynamic and fast paced environment together with excellent business judgment, and strategic thinking.
•    Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.
