Program Director

Sapiens is urgently looking for a Program Director who has extensive experience of delivering global software projects, who can fully communicate in Finnish, and who can happily commute to our client who has offices in Turku and Helsinki. 

 

This is an ideal opportunity for somebody with software development project management skills to make a big impact locally, whilst being an important part of the Sapiens's global community.

 

Location: Finland 

 

Working Model: Hybrid - 1 or 2 days per week in Turku or Helsinki 

 

The ideal candidate will be a business executive who understands and can manage the delicate balance of ensuring the profitable growth of Sapiens’ business in a defined account/territory, ensuring quality project delivery, achieving its financial targets, whilst ensuring that customer satisfaction and loyalty are optimized. 

This role has been identified as the central most significant and senior role at the heart of Sapiens’ customer-facing operations. The effective and efficient execution of this role governs the overall business performance of the company and hence is seen as critical to its success.  You will have ultimate responsibility for the customer, and, although cooperation and teamwork are required, it is the Program Director who has the final authority regarding customer-facing matters. 

 

About the role … 

 

You will have four main areas of responsibility: 

 

Customer management: 

 

Responsible for the well-being of long-term customer relationship and customer satisfaction. The aim is to be valued by the customer as a trusted advisor and a reliable focal point for business and systems issues. 

 

Growth management: 

 

Driving constantly to grow the business with the customer by identifying and promoting business opportunities where Sapiens’ added value is needed. Penetrating new segments within existing customers. 

 

Delivery Management: 

 

The Program Director is the final point of accountability for ensuring quality, timely and on-budget delivery of Sapiens’ operations, solutions, and projects. You will work hand in hand with the delivery managers to optimise delivery. 

 

P&L Management: 

 

Manage the P&L with the customer and be responsible for meeting the AOP targets, continuously focusing on lowering the total cost of ownership for the customer. 

 

Skills and Experience required … 

 

  • 10+ years of management experience (staff and budget responsibility) in service delivery within a global enterprise software solutions company.  A background of working within Life & Pensions Insurance industry will be a big advantage. 
  • Familiar with Agile methodology. 
  • Proven experience of leading international clients and engagement teams through the delivery of complex software solutions. 
  • Proven experience of growing business with existing customers both hands-on and by leading a team of account managers.  
  • Excellent client relationship management skills and the ability to play a trusted advisor to C-level customer executives. 
  • Proven track record of successful solution delivery with demonstrated success managing multiple complex projects, juggling competing priorities, and meeting deadlines. 
  • Seasoned manager with the ability to hire, mentor, coach and develop a globally dispersed high performing Professional Services team. 
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills (additional languages are an advantage). 
  • Ability to be able to travel to meet with the client in Turku/Helsinki as and when required, and some occasional international travel may be required.

This role is open to applicants from Finland only. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to communicate fully in Finnish and English.
