This role will be responsible for supporting Sapiens Reinsurance clients with on-going daily technical issues.  You will conduct detailed troubleshooting and work closely with our R&D team to resolve more complex technical issues for the production customers.  This role will require working directly with customers, team lead and other developers. 



  • Work closely with external customers on more complex technical issues as well as act as interface between clients and product development.
  • Work closely with Product Development and implementation teams to resolve client issues
  • Provide fault reproduction and troubleshooting, system characterization and analysis, root cause analysis of product issues, bug tracking and resolution
  • Draft, review, and issue product bugs/fixes working closely with R&D
  • Manage technical contributions of other engineers assigned to the project and provide cross-training to other client support engineers
  • Provide multi-level troubleshooting and technical support to clients.
  • Create and execute unit tests
  • Debug code, make and test code fixes as time permits with customer engagements
  • Adhere to defined coding standards and other defined quality standards
  • Adhere to project development processes including documentation, defect tracking, software configuration management, and status reporting
  • Participate in and contribute to software architectural design discussions



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement
  • Strong experience working with financial applications
  • 4-8 years software support experience
  • Understanding of logical database design and physical database structures and SQL
  • Experience with IDE such as Eclipse preferred
  • Experience with the open source frameworks Spring and Hibernate preferred
  • Experience with installing and configuring software
  • Basic understanding of networking in relation to software configuration
  • Basic understanding of file systems in relation to software configuration
  • Ability to keep track of multiple support tasks simultaneously
  • Strong research and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable communicating with and supporting a user base of varying technical skills
  • Ability to function in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of application servers (JBoss, WebSphere), including configuration, monitoring and tuning preferred
  • Knowledge of Java programming language
  • Knowledge with secure configurations of systems, such as encryption and access control
  • Excellent documentation skills of the design, coding, and maintenance
  • Excellent understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with external, as well as internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation. This includes both verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at different professional levels.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed
  • Ability to work as part of a team working towards a common goal
  • Strong team player with flexible attitude
