System Administrator

Sapiens is on the lookout for a System Administrator to become a key player in our Colombia team. If you're a seasoned Systems pro and ready to take your career to new heights with an established, globally successful company, this role could be the perfect fit.
Location: Colombia, Bogotá
Working Model: Our flexible work arrangement combines both remote and in-office work, optimizing flexibility and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with managing cloud infrastructure.
• Help with VM migrations and upgrades.
• Support backup solutions (Metallic/Veeam).
• Participate in POCs for new IT products.
• Assist with incident response.
• Help with monitoring solutions.

Must have skills:

• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
• Flexibility with work hours
• Basic Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with VMware and Azure is a plus.
• System Basics: Basic understanding of Active Directory, Linux, and Windows servers.
• Backup Awareness: Some knowledge of backup solutions like Metallic and Veeam.
• Storage Basics: Introductory understanding of SAN and storage management.
• Troubleshooting: Basic problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to Learn: Interest in scripting/automation (Bash or PowerShell).
• Eager to Help: Enthusiasm for assisting with product evaluations. 

Qualifications

• Degree in an IT or related subject.
• 3-5 Years experience in administrator role

Knowledge, and certifications
Essential

• Operating Systems: Linux and Windows Server OS
• Windows: Deploy, configure, and administer a Window Server (2016 to 2025) environment.
• Linux: Deploy, configure, and administer a Linux server (at least CentOS, RedHat and Oracle Linux) environment.
• Experience of the following technologies: Active Directory (AD DS and Entra ID), DNS, DHCP, AD CS, WSUS, IIS, File Servers, Microsoft System Centre Suite, PowerShell, Group Policy administration, Windows Server HA options such as clustering. RDS and WVD.
• Virtualisation Technologies: VMware vSphere ESXi and Hyper-V
• Management and monitoring tools: VMware vCentre, SCVMM, SCCM, SCOM, Azure Monitor, Azure log analytics etc.
• Networking: Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, switches, routers, firewalls, SDN etc.
• Standards: ITIL – Knowledge and experience of the ITIL framework and practices.

Preferred

• Knowledge and experience of other distributions will be advantageous.
• Management and monitoring tools: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt Stack or similar configuration
• VMware Horizon knowledge and experience.
• Experience and knowledge of Hyperconverged Infrastructure – Cisco UCS, etc.
• Cloud Technology: AWS
• Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Oracle Linux Certified Associate, CompTIA Linux+
• Cloud Technology: Microsoft Azure – AZ-104 certification and relevant experience would be advantageous.
