Finance Controller / Team Lead

​​​​​​Sapiens Germany is seeking a seasoned finance professional – a Financial Controller with leadership experience and a passion for driving financial excellence in an international environment.

Location: Hamburg

Working model: Hybrid - flexible days

What you will do:

• Team management: Responsibility for the structure and processes in the accounting team
• Closing: Responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to US-GAAP & HGB with special focus on revenue recognition of multi-year software implementation projects
• Payroll: Responsibility for payroll accounting
• Transfer pricing: processing and documentation of intercompany transactions
• Financial compliance: documentation and implementation of ICS and SOX compliance processes and support with SOX audits
• Audit: responsibility for carrying out tax, compliance, and annual audits
• Taxes: Preparation of income and sales tax returns in collaboration with external tax advisors

What you need to succeed:

• Completed business studies or commercial training combined with relevant professional experience, training as an (international) accountant desirable
• Several years of professional experience in accounting according to HGB and US-GAAP/IFRS
• Knowledge of tax law, US-GAAP/IFRS and SOX compliance required
• Sound knowledge in the area of revenue recognition of multi-year software projects is a prerequisite - understanding the importance of contracts a bonus
• Confident handling of accounting software applications and MS Office, knowledge of SAP Business One desirable
• Sound experience in an international corporate environment, ideally in the tech sector
• You have a high level of commitment and detail orientation, like to lend a hand and are a team player with communication skills, also in English
